Lavasoft forum off-line?

I can't reach the Lavasoft forums recently. Someone posted that there was a new update today, but no details were given. I tried to access their forum, but was unable to connect. What's going on?

Re: Lavasoft forum off-line?

Maybe the servers were just busy when you tried. I just connected and downloaded the new update without a problem.

Want to try it again from your location?

{edit} Sorry, should have read your post more closely. See you only wanted the forum, not the update. Anyway, thanks for your post leading to the update even if inadvertently.

The Lavasoft support forums are off line temporarily due to a software upgrade. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and the forums will be back as soon as possible.

Registered customers can send an inquiry to our technical support Email address as always.

From the Lavasoft website.

Re: Lavasoft forum off-line?

Thank you! I must have missed a previous discussion, as I have the evil sinus/allery crud and have not been able to keep up with the posts in the many forums that I try to read each day.

This last outage I believe has been on since the second of April... we've been discussing it here if you want to peek at it: »forums.manageyourpc.com/index.ph···t&p=4841

This is the first thread here at DSLr that I've seen on it.

Re: Lavasoft forum off-line?

Have they posted anything indicating when it'll be back up? I got email notification of a private message regarding something to do with the false positives Ad-Aware has with our product and now I obviously can't check it to see what was written. Hopefully the PM system is preserved, though I could see it getting wiped if the overhaul is a considerable one. I wonder why they bothered to remove the entire Bug Reports and Suggestions sub-forum earlier if they were going to do this all along anyway.

***VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION***
for user's of the LS support forum's,using ad aware se and requiring help removing infections.thanks to the generous efforts of volunteer's who have served at the LS forums(and nothing to do with LS!)there is a support available at other forum site's.a full listing of site's are available at

»forums.maddoktor2.com/index.php?···&p=18410

Huge respect/thanks to Mitch and the ASAP member's/website's who are acting in the interest of the end user unlike Lavasoft.

Periodically, LS feels it necessary to restructure their support forums. Among other things, it allows them to clean up all those pesky threads that they see as a bother and unworthy of their exalted attention or perhaps throw a bad light on certain subjects. (book burning)
under the disguise of forum improvement....
good bye WhenU,Zerospyware fiasco etc

Scaramouche,i too received the same e-mail notification of forum topic reply by IAMSKINZ(Mr J Skinner of LS).i doubt if it was a serious reply since it will never see the light of day.probaly some kind of surreal statement or demonstration of his GSOH.

5 days down and counting, that must be the mother of all software upgrade's;)

I have bad feeling here, and it reminds me of when another anti-malware vendor was unable to control the negative posts in their forum. Their solution was to remove the forum.

Indeed Aaron has graciously indicated that help can be provided for Ad-Aware at his website at »forums.manageyourpc.com/index.php? . Here is the the post referred to above from SpyWare BeWare:

quote:

What does this mean? Does it mean that Lavasoft's support forums will soon be back or does it mean that their support forums ceased to exist?

But i did not check to see if it is the same server host or even if they have physically changed to another host.

ATTENTION!

The Apache online documentation has been included with this distribution.
Especially also read the mod_ssl User Manual carefully.

Re: Lavasoft forum off-line?

I would like to think they might be changing even the forum software type..maybe to make it less vulnerable..or even the server type and it's software.. and that surely took some time to do and put in place..but all guesses on my part guys since I never took a real close look at it all during the prior operation.

But i know that to be a good host and can handle much traffic.

They use IPB. That apache message would be an indication to me that the upgrade was completed. Since Fryertuck has been busy with the Research Portal, I doubt he has had time for rebuilding the support site mentioned by Mike in his post. I think Fryertuck is the only one working on the web design these days.

thank you for bringing forth this information Corrine/Name Game/Buddel.Hopefully this is a precursor to a return of the public support forum's at lavasoft.

Its seems odd to withdrawl the original support forum when the new and improved forum was unavailable.Lavasoft shoot themselve's in the foot again by bad planning and subsequent bad PR again.business as usual by LS!

What I find most inexcusable is Lavasoft's not telling the volunteers who have manned their forums what their plans are. They deserve some answers for all of the hard work they've put in and continue to on other forums.
