Re: Router

I have heard that the Linksys router does all the PPP dialing. I have the WinPoet installed (before I had the router). But do I need it or not since the router does all the PPP dialing anyway? What would happen if I remove it from the startup, will I be still OK without it?

You don't need it. You will still be fine. And your system will be faster and more stable.

Just be sure to uninstall it cleanly, either from its Program group or from Add/Remove Programs. Do not simply "remove it from the startup".

However, keep your installation CD handy in the even that your router fails.

By the way, it's "PPPoE", or Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet.
