Stever80,
I just ran in to a few issues with NIS 2005. The solution to my problem was to download SynNTR.exe from Symantec's site and completely uninstall all Symantec products. Then I followed their instructions to the letter (including booting with Selective Restart to run the Install) and went through the myriad of updates from LU. It was a pain, but it cured the original problem, and it appears to have cleared up some I was unaware of because my machine is performing better than it has since I did the first install of NIS 2005. I know that the install says it uninstalls all of the other products, but it leaves hidden files and registry keys and class settings that it appears can only be deleted correctly by using Add/Remove uninstall followed by SymNRT.exe. This may not solve your issue, but I know of at least 2 other NIS 2005 users besides myself who have experienced some weird stuff with the new NIS. Both of them did the complete uninstall/reinstall bit and cured their problems as well. |
