I picked up my modem today and I noticed that there's a rattling noise inside. Is this normal?
The modem is the Scientific Atlanta Webstar DPX2100. |

The modem is working satisfactorily? If so, then don't worry about it. |

| reply to sbrook Actually, it's not working so well. I checked the Upstream power and it's it's over 55. It is actually at 61. Is it possible that could be the cause of it? I considered my line, however I recently replaced it with brand new RG6. The splitter situation is at how Rogers left it (1 split at the drop).
The reason I ask is, I'm in the midst of sorting out a connection issues and I'm suspecting my modem. |

| reply to No_Style hey sbrook, i know signal boosters are 'bad' when it comes to the interweb, but are they only bad in terms of being on the internet line? If the split from my box goes to my Modem, and then to all my TV's, and i boost a section to one of the TV's, is that ok?
thanks. |

| reply to sbrook I did use the Motorolla Broadband Drop Amp, but like I stated it I reverted all my connections to the default (How Rogers left it).
When I used the amp though, it was for the TV line and after my splitter. (Not ideal place, but I was getting bad connectivity issues when I placed it in between the original drop and the first split. |

NoStyle ... there's something wrong to give you signal levels like that. Time to call Rogers. |

| reply to No_Style I used get periodic rattling noises exactly as described, with about the same regularity, from around the bottom drawer of my stove.
It turned out to be field mice helping themselves to a bag of walnuts. I don't know what's inside the Webstar modem but I hope the cause is something else. :D |

Yeah that's the ghost of Ted Rogers dead daddy he never knew. Pretty common occurrence in the newer models. He doesn't like how Teddy is running the shop. Just Google "ghost removal" and you'll be alright. |

Yes, maybe you can paint the upper "Spell" with Yellow Colour paper & Red text, Stick it to the modem. Then everythings should be ok. Ted Dead Daddy will gone thereafter.
This is a Chinese Way, Other may post the English way......
