[FireFox] Updating Extensions and Themes

The FF auto updater is telling me that a couple of my themes and Forecast Fox need updating. Is it better to uninstall the old versions first and then install the new ones? I ask because using the auto updating when going from FF1.02 to 1.03 left the old FF1.02 registry entries in the registry. I don't want the old registry extension and themes entries left behind.

Yes, it is recommended to uninstall old extensions and themes first. There are others who would say that you do not have to, but I like to go with Mozilla's recommendations myself.

Even moving to new builds once you get the hang of it for best results do a clean install of FF w/ New Profile. Of course you would want to clean the registry before installing a new build.

Yes, technically it's best practice to do so, but 99% of the time, you probably won't run into any trouble by just installing over the old one.
