1 edit | [SunRocket] LNP confirmation with 128 addresses
Last Friday I put in for LNP for one of my numbers with SunRocket. I was a bit nervous as it's a very important # but thought it would be a good decision in the long term.
Today, I got an email confirmation notifying me that they had my request documented. That was a good thing as I was wondering if/when I would hear something from SR.
HOWEVER: My email address was only one of 128 addresses in the plain text "To" header created by "Microsoft Office Outlook, Build 11.0.5510". There it was, a naked list of presumably 127 other SR customers who had also requested LNP. Each and everyone of us on that list could see all the rest of us.
With all the compromised machines out there, how do I know that my special SunRocket-only email address isn't going to 1) be a spam target now, 2) be a virus sender "from" address now, 3) be used to attack SR itself?
OK, so I can luckily easily change that address but that answer misses the point ...
Apart from just being bush-league and looking extremely unprofessional, it is *very* disturbing because my email address is half of my on-line login sercurity/authorization info. Not that anyone on that list is likely to try to crack my password ... but ... no one else but SR and me knew that address -- no longer!
What does this say for SunRocket procedures? They've just blatantly violated some pretty basic stuff here and basically just look like they're blindly feeling their way.
This doesn't make me feel too damn secure about the way they handle anything else in my account with them, including my LNP.
I've emailed them now, but so far have yet to get an email response to several other emails to them so it's almost why bother?
Bottom line: SR looks to be operationally incompetent.

Wow, I like SR a lot, but there is no excuse for such a pathetic and amateur process like that! |

| reply to deliberate Wow that is pretty bad. I am suprised at them for this.
I am still waiting for further information from them about my LNP status. I submitted all my stuff March 7th and everytime I call to check the status, no one really knows whats going on.
Hopefully it'll be done soon

I'm not sure a "level-one" response is really what I'm looking for; I've already gotten all the superficial "Gee, I'm sorry that ..." that I need for the year. I'd rather get a reply from someone who might have a clue at understanding the problem. So ...
I *did* email them with plenty of detail and am now waiting for someone there to give it their best shot at a written reply.

i submitted my request via their website, tues 4/12, they confirmed they received it - is there anything i can do to make sure it goes in before the 30 days, one of the reasons i switched from broadvoice was due to their procrastination in implementing lnp |

OK, I just heard back from "Member Services". Here's the complete text of their entire response: "What would you like to know?"
I have since blocked my original SunRocket email address and changed the one on file with SunRocket to another new non-published address. I feel badly for those who didn't use a changeable address for this.
They obviously have no clue.
