| Re: [ADSL] BT Yahoo 1MB over Wireless - Linksys WAG54G I have just managed to use BT Broadband with an AT&T client connector by buying a new router: D-Link ADSL Wireless Router and configuring the PPPoA but not an IT person, I work in a press office so not easy to do for an average end user!
Essentially you need to take the proxy server off, link to the router IP address (in the booklet with the router), use the BT settings:
User name: first.surname@btbroadband.com
Password: BT
Change the encapsulation to VC
Ensure it says PPPoA not bridge, PPPoE etc
Bit trial and error but I got there so it does work!
Bought the router from PC World but if you chat to their service desk and get them to sign the back of your receipt they will enable you to get a full refund if it doesn't work so if you can spend £70 ish it will work so worth it in longer term savings on dial up?
