Well that's what it is. My networked DVD player has software that runs on my PC. It allows me to stream files off my PC to my DVD player and watch them on my projector. I put in my-ip:8000 and it took me straight to the software on my PC that the DVD player uses. All of this is done on my local network. Is there a way with the router I have to close this port to the WAN but keep it open on my LAN?
