I have extensive experience with it! I was going nuts in the beginning, but got all my problems solved.
Configuration:
Versalink 327W (Doing the PPP, Passing the IP to the Gizmo) Gizmo (QOS ON!, ALL ports forwarded to D-Link) D-Link DI-624 (Static IP!) Computers, Playstation 2 (wireless)
I have the Versalink modem doing the PPP connection, as the Gizmo would not hold the PPP connection for me, and I put the Gizmo IP address in the Single Static IP. I have the Gizmo I have the other router for the QOS to work on the Gizmo, forwarded ALL ports to my D-Link just in case. I also configured the D-Link to have a Static IP for the WAN side (which comes from the Gizmo) to help when I reset the gizmo, gets the internet back up quicker.

I just set up the Versalink 327W. I connected my computers and Packet8 DTA directly to the Versalink's built in router.
I am going to try SunRocket and if satisfied cancel Packet8.
Question: When I connect the SunRocket Gizmo to the Versalink 327W, do I need to connect a second router to the Gizmo to network my computers?

| reply to nicegirl To answer your question no you would not, however I found the versalinks QOS was not as good as the Gizmos. So I went and hooked up another router after the Gizmo to network my computers using that router. Try it, I have only 128 up on my DSL so I need QOS working in order for good quality calls. If you have good upload speed then you might be okay using the Versalinks QOS. |

Thanks all for the helpful input!
Re: Qos on the Versalink
I see how to enable Qos, but I don't know how to give the Voip device priority. How does simply enabling Qos on the Versalink improve call quality? Maybe I can improve the Packet8 quality by enabling Qos?
Re: A second router.
When I set up the Gizmo, I can try your configuration PJIV. Also, I tested my upload speeds to be ~640kbps.

Hello PJIV!
I just connected the gizmo, and everything seems to be working well.
I have the gizmo plugged into 327W's wired LAN, along with two other computers. Also, I have two computers connected to the 327W's wireless LAN.
I have not connected a second router, nor fiddled with QoS. Maybe everything is OK as is?
But if I choose to follow your configuration, how do I set: Gizmo (QOS ON!, ALL ports forwarded to Second router) Second router (Static IP!)
Does the gizmo have a web configuration page?
Thanks for your helpful input!

yes the Gizmo has a web config »192.168.251.1/ password is welcome.
Everything can be set there. No need going into this now because there are so many routers out there, and their all different. |

1 edit | Hello PJIV,
For now, I will keep the current configuration as is.
But if I decide to fiddle with the QoS and a second router, the second router would most likely be the D-Link I had been using until this week.
I made five big system changes almost simultaneously this week. I changed ISP provider from Cablevision to Verizon DSL, changed modem from Motorola to Westell, changed router from D-Link to Westell, changed VOIP provider from Packet8 to SunRocket, changed VOIP box from DTA to gizmo.
Initial experience is everything is ok.
Thanks,
