What can be faster than immediately? The only delays I notice on various dsl and cable lines is from poorly desinged webpages, such as a delay in drawing the whole page because of table encapsulation or other lousy programing errors. Accelerators won't fix that. -- Formerly the Snow Miser... |

@verizon.net | I'm with that guy. Even if a website is bogged down, you can always view the cached version from yahoo and google search engines. |

This has to tie in with their advertising program somehow.
I'm sure this allows them to aggregate information somehow and mine that to create algorithms to better serve ads. |

Obviously, the benefit for Google is data mining and determining more popular destinations on the web. Still, it is a service for some that has slow connections. |

Ah, yes. The never ending quest for instant gratification. "I dont want to wait for even one second! I want it NOW! I'll use any amount of programs I have to to get that not even noticeable .1 second faster".
This is just data mining, obviously, since it goes through google. Google knows that it's users are mostly the clueless-who will, of course, sign up for "web accellerator-Forgive me, but I dont choose to help any of these companies, or, have their-essentially-spyware running on my computer. Any bets that once it is running, you your requests HAVE to go through Google only?
But then, that's just me. I dont mind waiting a second or two for a page to load. |

There is some benefit to some end users. If your ISP has a bad route to a group of sites that you browse often it'll speed up the page load due to the fact that, because of their presence, you're not likely to have a bad connection to google.
I and I'm sure many others have done this before using anonymous proxies, not to gain anonymity, but to get to a site that you know is up but for some reason you can't get a route to. -- Beagles really should come in convienent 10 packs. |
