My dads pc is getting the 5mbps download but i have a problem on my pc. On my pc my download is not getting over the 1300 kbps range. Firewall is off, popup blocker, iv already tried to tweak settings, im the only one up this late. Its always been 1300 even before the increased download. I do have a router.
any help will be appreciated. |

The upgrade is in effect here in Dubuque Iowa also, sad that the up is still 256:-(
Time to call and see if the 10/1 is ready to go too, they told me it will be at the same time so I will let all of you know what I find out.
Well they say the 10/1 is not ready yet, go figure, my upload is less now then before the upgrade. |

the upgrade is working here in the Il side of the Quad Cities for my linux box but I still have the same speeds with my windoze box. Go Figure 4600+ in nix and about 2600+ in the other box any fixes out there to speed up the slow box? Thanks for your input and time. |

I'm in Ames/Nevada, Iowa. I reset my modem when I went home for lunch today. I got 580Kb/sec down when I downloaded the latest 2.6 linux kernel from www.kernel.org.
5Mbit is good. |

Well, we have the upgrade in Iowa City.
Only pulling 3.8M download, but interestingly enough, my upload has improved to 212k (we were plagued with 140k upload lately) during peak hours no less. |

Rock Island, IL | Well the Illinois side of the quad cities has the upgrade still getting thundering downloads with the linux average is about 4700 or so the darn windoze even with changes to the settings ie:64000/64240 I am still getting about 2500 average is all gawd now I know why I love linux. LOL |

It's getting time for for some more upgrades in Iowa City and some more node splits. I think the $29.95/month HSI deal has put a heavy load on the system here in IC. |
