| Nationwide problems for comcast?
Lately it seems comcast is having tons of problems nationwide with packet loss and constant disconnects during peak hours. Im in the dfw area and half the time my modem can't even connect but the picture on my tvs remain clear so i don't think its the signal, any suggestions? |

| reply to rody_44 I am getting disconnect in Connecticut. I called them around 4AM and they said it was routine maintenance (yet it wasn't on their status page :

This morning the disconnects continue but getting my router to renew it IP every 5 minutes keeps me on line.
This kind of stuff is getting annoying :

It isn't my router, but I get dropped packets while ping 192.168.100.1 when the internet goes out too. Flaky modem?

That is because when the cable is out you cant access the modem web status page through a router. You must be connected directly to the modem _and_ have the default gateway set as 192.168.100.1. That behavior is normal.
And early morning is normal for maintenance. And the status page isnt always updated you know.. |

| reply to djdanska It has been up and down 4mb to almost nothing. Strangly everytime I talk to CC they tell me there is nothing wrong as far as they can tell and ask me to run the seped test and send them the results. Guess what the speed is back up for that test until another hour or so and then dowhill again. Had cable HSI since 2001, time to look at dsl |

I'm begining to really hate comcast myself... Yah nice upgrade recently that has made many customers pissed off. My down is usually slower than my up no matter what I do. Lame customer service too. |

| reply to shwiiiing Yup I'm in DFW area and its been a few weeks now that during peak times I get total outgoing packet loss and very very slow incoming, like 20-40kb/s. And during non-peak times I still get packet loss and lower speed. I'm paying the $10 extra for more speed, what a waste, going to switch soon if they dont get their act straight. |

Regardless, i won't get anything sbc related. (especially at 384k. Yeek!) Just the way i am. |

| reply to shwiiiing I have been having a lot of packet loss problems and disconnects for about 5 weeks in Atlanta area. Everything works fine after I powercycle 98% of the time.
Many times all lights on the modem will seem fine, but I get so much packet loss I can't get anywhere. It will sometimes fix itself after a few minutes/hours. I haven't been able to identify a pattern/source yet. |
