The government will never force Verizon to lease any portion of the fiber connection to any competitor, at rates lower than Verizon wants to lease it at. Not so with copper. So removing that copper loop is very important to Verizon.

I thought I read about it on dlsreports first, but I just tried a search and could not find it.

calvoiper join:2003-03-31 Belvedere Tiburon, CA	...like everything else, unless the terms and pricing of the "negotiated" lease are subject to regulatory oversight (they aren't), there won't be any financial benefit to a CLEC to enter into such leases. Verizon will simply dictate terms and call it a "negotiation." calvoiper -- VoIP--the death knell of remaining voice monopolies!
