Power requirement for the ONT - BBU/UPS don't last forever when running off of the battery.
Here is a detailed picture of that battery. Does the red LED mean that the battery is bad? Or something is screwed up?
According to the user manual, it means the battery is not connected or it has a fault. Check and make sure it's plugged incorrectly.
