 using alcatel speed touch home ethernet

hi,
i have the alcatel speed touch home (ethernet version) from bellsouth dsl but now im in michigan. will it work with sbc yahoo dsl and will i have to change any settings?

That should work. But you mean Bell South doesn't want the modem back? You will need to change your PPPoE login information when you make your username and password for SBC.

Here's a link to the Bellsouth FAQ on the Alcatel Speed Touch Home (ethernet version)
It seems like you'll need to change the VPI/VCI values to 0/35 this is what SBC uses along with PPPoE for all accounts.

If you're signing up for a 1 year term its in your best interest to accept the DSL modem SBC offers it will cost less than $15

thanks. sbc yahoo offers free networking kits OR a free modem if you sign up online. so i figure if i already have a compatiable modem (crosses fingers) might as well go for the free networking kit.
