Down again this morning. Bad timing as I needed to connect to work. |

| Cant say I have experienced an outage today, but I can say that reverse dns is completely broken.

Hmmmmm.....
Edit: Non working reverse DNS causes many applications (such as ssh with RequireReverseDNS = yes) to fail. |

| reply to normat Down for a while this AM. I called in and there were no known issues. I had to call from work to report the issue but they couldn't do anything since I wasn't home to troubleshoot with them. Though all I could do would be to reboot the modem (which I had already done several times).
Well, it's working now. |

| reply to normat Are your outages DNS only? Did you try the ones I posted in the other thread? Or any other major DNS servers? |

| Personally, I run my own dns server, so thats not my problem. My problem is Webunited transfered the Netrox reverse dns zone to their own nameservers, without adding any entries for the zone.
When I first signed up I had netrox change my reverse to my own domain, because I have an application that is IP locked by domain. Hence, without reverse, my application no longer runs thinking Im a pirate.
Edit: Also, I have found a couple websites that give 403 forbidden errors without a valid reverse, but worked fine as of last week.
See here for the problem: »www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ptr.ch?ip···.231.133 |

| reply to Nemokrad I've been getting more unable to authenticate PPPoE errors. DNS hasn't been a big issue.
I see a little evidence of congestion on the backbone that wasn't there with Level3.
Hayward, I'd probably be saying there haven't been many issues but I use it to connect to work, for VoIP phone service and media streaming. I've had more issues the past two weeks than I did the past two years. I just hope they are getting the kinks of the transition worked out. |

| reply to normat Well, Im happy to say DNS issues have been resolved, but I also am having occasional pppoe session dropouts. Sync remains constant, but the pppoe session terminates and does not reconnect for 15-20 minutes. Power cycling the modem does nothing during these outages. As I am using the locked-down-tighter-then-Fort-Knox Netrox supplied modem, I have no idea what the specific error is when this happens. |

| I feel better knowing someone else is having the issue. I have my own modem but I would need to rig it up for Telnet/Web interface.
My router does the PPPoE auth. All I can tell is it can't establish an auth but I still have sync. This probably isn't a problem for people still on 1.5Mb bridged service.
It's a pain as it knocks my VoIP phone off and my UPnP media server needs to be reset (wife doesn't like that). Plus I'm on 24 hour call for work.
I called support during the last outage but it was back up by the time the call was taken. Support wouldn't do anything unless it was happening while I was on the phone. He did verify that I had reconnected a few different times. Though, it wasn't on my part. I'm sure those corresponded to outages.
From navigating their phone system I get the feeling that DSL is low on their priority list. I'm not sure why they wanted Netrox.
Give them a call. Perhaps if more people complain they will bother to check the issue out. |

| reply to normat My connection was down when I got on this morning, too. But, using the modem supplied by Netrox grants me no ability to troubleshoot things. | reply to normat Power cycling the modem is becoming a twice daily occurrence at my household, once in the morning and then again in the evening. Not that it's difficult, it just one of those minor annoyances that I never had prior to Netrox changing ownership. |

Which modem are you using & what needed to be reconfigured? I have the Comtrend. Before the switchover I had a static IP routed line which they turned into PPPoE, sadly. I'm not 100% sure what else was reconfigured because I wasn't home and the tech instructed my mom on what to do. All I know is my attainable download rate is over 10mbps, lol. |
