I remember....the exchanges got so heated you had to lock down the original thread and start a new one.....eventually cooler heads prevailed, and we developed close bonds and new friendships. Then, we stomped the sh** out of 'em!!!

One does remember vividly Ron, As I recall the team with the better members won the competition.
Quality of membership is paramount, the minute you have a few idiots that shout and stamp their feet, you damage the team.
Look at both of those teams now..they have lost their drive and stomp ability.

I came over for a truely, friendly hello and a congrats to guys on your impressive output!!!
I hope that no-one misunderstands and thinks I'm here as a flamer...I enjoy competition...friendly, that is 
I've visited DSL reports forums for some time and must admit that the network / network hardware are the best on the web.

That was indeed a great time for us here at Team DSLR. Thinking back on it, I honestly think that OcUK did indeed make a mistake by awakening the sleeping dog. Well, the mistake was for them, not for the SETI project. It sure did light a fire under us. Unfortunately for many teams since then, that fire still burns brightly today. Shall we set our sights on burning yet another tushie?
What a TEAM!!!

JP pretty much summed it up. Some of the members of the OcUK team suddenly appeared in our forum and announced that they would soon "Stomp" us. Stomp is a term they use in a very friendly manner over on their own forum. The "threat" of being stomped did not sit very well here and not long afterward it was decided that the two teams would race to see who could add 100,000 WUs to the totals that each team had the day the stomp warning was given.
We sounded the alarm and when we did, many members of the Folding Forum joined forces with us. Needless to say, our production skyrocketed and we left OcUK in the dust. On the positive side however, we made some great friendships during the challenge that have grown since then. For those that were not here, there is still a link at the top of our forum to their board. Take a pop over and say hello. Their bark is much worse than their bite and in truth, they are a bunch of real great guys and girls, just like us.
What a TEAM!!!

I've been spying on these guys since they stomped OcUK sometime back;).I post occasionally here too ,maybe between the 2 of us we can keep a proper eye on them;)heh
If you look back to some of HB's earlier daily team stats you'll see references to DSLR going back some way.At 1 time they were outproducing us by 500 WU's/day!.Of course TA wasn't gonna put up with that;) ,however DSLR are a tough lot & have also upped their output:P.

Welcome ! Man, I snooze and look at all I miss.
Boy do I remember the OcUK race. If not for that, the Chimp may never have come onboard (anybody know how many new crunchers came onboard then? Not the ones who shifted focus for us but people like myself, Sheik28, fcapes?? who began crunching for the first time ever?). And I was impressed by the quality of the visitors from OcUK, really decent folk. Look forward to expanding our friends list
As well as we have been doing, DSLR is a sleeping giant, and we probably need another wake up call, so Engineer_TA we probably owe you a large thank you also.
