 ST-Scam |
I just tried to reach - »www.southtrust.com/st/personalba···irmation - as per your shown link and got the top shot in my Screeny.
I then found the following info on there.
EMAIL ALERT REGARDING SOUTHTRUST AND WACHOVIA INTEGRATION - »https://southtrustonlinebanking.com/retail/ -
Consumer Alerts -
SouthTrust Bank customers should be aware of multiple e-mail-based scams attempting to collect private account information from them. - »www.southtrust.com/st/AboutUs/Pr···ault.htm -
So it seems as if they are aware of some scams, but the more people that report them the better. Glad you didn't get hoodwinked.
If i had have reached the bogus site i would have taken great delight in filling in lots of useless details for them to waste their time with. Of course i am NOT recommending that others ever do if faced with a similar situation.
It's Always wise NEVER to click on a link in an email, no matter what ! Even if you actually trust the link then i suggest you copy and paste it into notepad, and then After you have logged out close your browser and relaunch a new instance of it, and then copy and paste into the fresh browser.
