 MBSA is a great tool and it's been availible for a long time. People don't realize just how much work Microsoft puts in to security, it's geneally the users who leave their system unpatched/unsecured who cause the problems. The MBSA isn't a fix all, but its a great tool to run to make sure you haven't missed anything simple.
