[BroadVoice] They're the next Broadvox Direct...

Meaning they're the next to pull out of the consumer business!

Customer support has been non-existant from Day One. Yes, BLL, we know you get through every time. Maybe they have your account flagged or something. For the rest of us, you have to call or email 20 times and hope you get lucky enough to talk to the one or two techs they must have.

They tried to beat everyone on price all around and obviously can't afford to beef up the service AT ALL. They haven't introduced anything new since they launched. Basically all of their features come from the Broadcom switch they have, nothing else.

They rushed to offer connectivity to Asterisk, but because of their inadequate servers, they had to force all users to install a patch -- which was never an issue with ANY OTHER provider. Don't install the patch? You will effectively launch a Denial-of-Service against their servers and bring them down. Their only way of stopping you is to block your IP.

They claimed support for "any" BYOD device, however don't try to ask them for help on configuring it. Honestly, how did they think they could train their two techs to know every device inside out?

Lower margins than Packet8 + More customer service burdens = LESS PROFIT = Out of business.

I know, I know, stop whining, it's VoIP. But wait, there are OTHER VoIP providers that don't have TWO WEEK outages. And there are OTHER VoIP providers that pick up the phone and answer emails. Those other providers are getting my business from now on.

I fully expect the BV cheerleaders to come flame this thread. And when a new service comes out for $9.94/month instead of $9.95, they'll be the first to bail. How about you post some facts:

- Did BV management come off as amateur for putting all their eggs in one basket? Yes.
- Was the service down more than it was up for almost TWO WEEKS? Yes.
- Can more than 75% of people get through to a human in under 15 minutes? No.
- Can someone DO THE MATH and explain how BV can make money on a $20/month plan with free int'l calling?

BroadVox Direct fizzled out after so many people cheered for them because they botched it up one too many times. BroadVoice seems to have the "BV" curse! I do give them credit for one thing though: we don't have to hear their CEO telling lies on here 24/7, he just does it in one big press release.

Re: [BroadVoice] not for me!

Boy am I happy that I went with MSM Netphone »www.msmnetphone.com. A lot of my friends here in Israel went with Broadvoice - they paid 24.99 for 20+ countries but got bad service. I paid 29.99 including everything which got me only US/Canada/UK and Israel (all I need...) and got great service. They have only been done for 3 hours in the last 6 months!
I told my friends - hey you are saving a couple of dollars but you don't have any support here in Israel, where we live. MSM actually has a couple of support people in Israel, which was great for me. Now they are offering BV users who want to upgrade a free upgrade with no activation and a free device.

It drives me crazy how we see constantly people jumping providers for a couple of dollars and then complaining about the service!

I'm getting there...

I sent two e-mails over the past few days. One was four days ago, the other was yesterday morning. I have had no response. I also TRIED to call them today at 1:30pm EST due to intermittent outgoing call failures. I hung up after 1:22 of listening to their hold music on the speakerphone.

How nice to know you're thinking of me. It's a little alarming though, the possibility that Broadvoice has singled me out as the ONE customer they are going to give good service to.

Hey, you should cancel. If I was that unhappy with a service, I'd have cancelled long ago.

EDIT: I just read gunji01man's review of Broadvoice, and learned that he did cancel...almost a year ago! Clearly Broadvoice has done some serious damage to his psyche if he's still complaining about them 11 months after he cancelled. Poor guy...

Re: [BroadVoice] They're the next Broadvox Direct.

well, it is very simple, if you are happy with BV, use it, otherwise leave it. market will decide its fate.

for some customers like me,a poor student, I like the low price. I understand the two-week outrage. while this could happen to any other VOIP companies.

customers service, it is not as good as I like, well, if you wait for a while, eventually, you get someone help you out. the math is simple, you pay 10 $ more each month, BV can hire more CR to answer your phone with a shorter wait time.
well, I am a poor student, I 'd like to have 20$ for unlimted call, no others can beat this.

in all, let the market decides.

why choose VOIP, low price, low price.
if you don't care to pay higher bill, why not stay with your AT&T, Verzion phone line. seems they never fail. (I don't know). I don't think so far no any VOIP provider can provide as "reliable" service as traditional phonelines
