Does anyone have any information on Voicepulse's plans to comply with the FCC's 911 mandate? Will they raise their monthly rates? -- iz |

| reply to iZ I spoke with CS yesterday, they have been very aware of the rising 911 tide and expect to be in compliance as mandated by the FCC. As regards to a price increase, not a word was whispered.
I for one, will pay the additional charge, if any, as I see it as a mandated expense from the government, not my provider. Those VoIP companies that claim and tout there will be no increase are masking future increases. No business plan would absorb the increase. If you believe that, I have plenty of land in Florida to sell you.
That being said, I would expect any and all charges to be passed to the consumer. To think otherwise is ludicrous. -- FWD#537129 |

| reply to voiplover Oh no! I have nightmares of 1 full page of surcharges and taxes from my SBC bill! Since VOIP is not seen as a lifeline service, I have no idea (other then the big phone companies buying support) why they need to law.
I guess as this industry matures, we will all start using offshore companies that don't need to comply with FCC mandates. Its really sad... |

| reply to iZ I feel that for any one of us to speculate at this point about rate increases from any provider, or extra fees would be strictly just that, speculation. I suppose right now, we'll just have to "wait and see" how this debacle plays out. |

| reply to iZ I went to VoicePulses website and searched 911 for the questions. Then submitted feed back... Below is what they said. I think you guys need to get off the whole fee speculation thing. It is really getting old. You can argue and argue, but the truth is that no one knows right now what will happen and who will charge. I would assume that the bigger providers have been setting money aside for this kind of thing. Lets just wait and see what happens. You can decide if you are going to pay more money when you know whether or not you will have to. Thanks,
Richard,
We do plan on providing E911 service within the next 120 days. Any additional information *regarding change of services due to the FCC E911 ruling will be released on our website wh *en it becomes available.

| reply to iZ Good points all and I apologize for inviting speculation. I was just impressed with Vonage's early announcement about their 911 fee plans, or lack thereof (whether that holds true for the long term remains to be seen as mentioned above) and was hoping someone here had VP's info. I guess we'll find out eventually . -- iz |

@optonline.net | reply to iZ I may be wrong, but I seriously doubt Voicepulse will add a fee for this. Especially since Vonage isn't. Perhaps only newer customers will get charged, while current customers get grandfathered in? We shall see. |

| I really can't wait for this to happen. I currently have a line with Sprint local. I have the absolute BARE MINIMUM line you can get with them. I have it mainly for backup to the Voicepulse line, as I am a new subscriber, slightly skeptical of the service (especially since my Digital Phone service with Brighthouse was not that great). The other reason I have the Sprint line was for my security system with Brinks. Apparently Brinks says they will work with the VoIP line. My recent Sprint bill:
Monthly Service Charges: $9.75 Taxes and Surcharges: $9.67 Total: $19.42
Thats for a phone line that makes maybe 3 calls a month! When 911 is available with VoicePulse, Sprint is no longer! |

| reply to iZ I really don't mind paying a couple extra bucks for VP 911 service.I had BellSouth and the min service was $19.95 for basic service. With VP I'm paying $14.95 with all the bells and whistles and 200mins of LD So We'll still be ahead with a slight rate increase. |
