| Multiple APs using Trango 900
I'm working with a small ISP that is starting to roll out Trango 900 MHZ equipment to supplement an existing 2.4 Karlnet network. The system right now has 3 Karlnet 2.4 APs in different locations, with one Trango 900 MHZ AP piggybacked on the same tower as a 2.4 AP. Right now, there are about 45 users on the 900 gear and 90 on the 2.4 stuff. We're thinking about adding more 900 capacity, since it's working a lot better for the purpose, but we have questions about how many 900 APs we can use in one location. Is it possible to sectorize 900 gear? Can we use multiple channels and keep the APs separated that way? Do we need to set up another 900 AP in a different location? Thanks for any help. |

| It's absolutely possible to sectorize it. Similar to 2.4 Ghz. Superpass sells 900Mhz Sectors so do many others -»www.superpass.com/902-928MH.html - how many you need depends on the size you use which will depend on the site survey etc. You need to plan your channels just like 2.4, and stay away for vertical polarization and (IMHO) Omni's. |
