Re: [Telephone] Charter Telephone Serviceable Areas South Carolina - Blue Ridge, Central, Clemson, Clinton, Easley, Fountain Inn, Greenville, Joanna, Greer, Laurens, Liberty, Pickens, Salem, Seneca, Simpsonville, Six Mile, Travelers Rest, Walhalla, Woodruff.
South Carolina is not officially serviceable at this time. They are not promoting the service in marketing. They still under testing and twicking the billing system for the area. The billing sytem for this area is new for the Telephony Department. However, if you contact our Telephony Sales Department in St Louis, they will set you up with service. They also have the information on triple play offers.
I do not have the number for South Carolina, but I believe you can use 866-207-3663. I think that this number is a national number.

Re: [Telephone] Charter Telephone Serviceable Areas The following is a great article about VOIP, and it also explains the difference of Broadband Telephone companies such as Vonage using SIP and Cable Companies that usues a carrier grade PacketCable standard. Charter uses Packetcable.

 | DewiM,
Charter is going to be launching in more states. However, right now it is only marketed in STL, MO, WI, MA and soon SC. More states to come. Basically, we are constantly launching telephone services all the way throughout 2005 and 2006.

Re: [Telephone] Charter Telephone Serviceable Area My wife pays the bills but we get Charter phone/TV/internet for several months. At least this combined package was a better deal than SBC. Especially because it works while SBC DSL in my area is poor.
We've had several (six?) disruptions in phone service that I recall. Once during a nasty storm where we lost electric, too. There is a lot of road construction going on around my subdivision but I've never been told that was the reason for the outages. The outages last several hours when they occur so I don't consider it as reliable as SBC. SBC has only gone out a few times in the last 15 years! |
