Other than that no second language. Always wished I learned Italian (Dad) or Polish (Mom) but never did.
Should have learned Spanish though. That would have been the most useful. Lots of Spanish speaking folks coming into the area. |

•French (not completely fluent, but can understand and speak it pretty well)
•Spanish (same as French)
•Dutch (Belgian Vlaams dialect - lower level than French)
•Italian (can understand it perfectly - when it comes to speak it, French and Spanish get mixed in the whole melee arena)
Used to know a little Libyan Arabic, but that is out the window; haven't had an Arabic contact since 1994!

I'll just list them all off:
English (native tongue)
Chinese (Mandarin) -- 5 years
Russian -- ~6 months (give or take)
Japanese -- still ongoing
Korean -- couple of weeks, quite simple so I'm picking it up very quickly
I only consider myself fluent in English, though I can have a very VERY simple conversation in Chinese (sigh, forgotten so much of my vocabulary... too many Cantonese here in the Bay, not enough people to practise with...)

The Japanese is a work in progress.
It is enough to get by for the very basics, but try to answer or understand something where the context is not known, that gets really tough.
Engrish is not really a joke. Understanding Engrish (something that was translated from Japanese to English) is made much easier by having studied even a little bit of Japanese. The word orderin Japanese is basically opposite what it would be in English.
