SunRocket completed the transfer of my Packet8 number this afternoon. The number was partially down less than 30 minutes. This number was assigned to me by Packet8 in September 2003. ...
I understood you could not port a VoIP number. Has this changed?

It's luck of the draw. VoIP providers aren't required to let their numbers be ported. However, Packet8 has been pretty good about letting people do it.

I thought if the number is a ported one to begin with, they have to allow you to port it again? Or maybe I am making things up again.

I spoke to P8 on the phone the other day and they said it was not a problem to port to another company.
