| The "second line" clause?
Does SBC offer a discount of some kind if you're adding DSL to a second line in your home?
According to this Fatwallet.com thread:

The answer seems to be "yes:"
[The Representative added DSL to the second line in his house and she told him that as a result of adding it to his second line there is another $5 credit.

How do I go about getting this $5 credit on my existing account, if such a thing does indeed exist?
My two lines are billed on separate statements, not combined, if that makes any difference. |

| I haven't heard of such a discount. I have DSL on both of my phone lines (same telco, different ISP) and the billing is consolidated on one statement. -- Got some spare cpu cycles ? Join Team Helix or Team Starfire! |

| I just read the same thread from FW this afternoon. I never paid much attention to that topic as I don't have a second line anyway.
I read the thread again and it seems there's an additional discount if you put the DSL on your second line. -- Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known - Carl Sagan |

| That guy is the first person I've ever seen mention that $5 thing. I'm on a second line and so are a lot of people I know and none of us have ever gotten an offer like that, even during all these re-rate "negotiations". I've also never heard any of the thousands of people who have come through this forum mention it.
But then again, stranger things have happened at SBC. |

| Maybe a new un-announced discount? I hope the CSR who gave him the additional discount is not mistaken, otherwise ... -- Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known - Carl Sagan |
