[Firmware] BEFSR41 Ver. 4?

I have been experiencing some connection difficulties lately and I wanted to upgrade the firmware on my router just to be sure there weren't any problems with it. Both of the firmware versions (v3 and v1/v2) give me an "incorrect file pattern" error. When I went to make sure what version I have, I noticed it says v4. Does anyone else have this router, and if so, where can I find the latest firmware for it?

Can anyone help me? I noticed in the Setup GUI for the router it displays my firmware version as 1.04.01 and it also displays BEFSR41v4 as the model number.

I have the same router with the same firmware version, but I too have been unable to locate any updates on the linksys site for the BEFSR41 V4.

After scouring the web, I found a few forum posts that say you can use the 1.06.xx firmware for v3 on the v4. But when I use the web interface, I get an incorrect file pattern error and when I use TFTP, it tells me "unable to get responses from server".

I just bought this same router yesterday, and my firmware is listed as 1.04.02.

I am havign a few wierd problems though, so I'm guessing I'll be looking for BIOS updates soon too.

Anyone found it yet?
I ust bought this same unit from Newegg for a friend. e has been using and older 8 port Linksys, that I loaned him, with no problems. When I replaced the 8 port router with this 4 port version, no more internet. Checked everything and tried to do the firmware upgrade, but received the same error message. Just about ready to RMA the unit, unless I can find a new firmware for it.

Re: [Firmware] BEFSR41 Ver. 4?

I've given up on my v.4. It constantly drops and reconnects the connection. I'm going back to my v.1 which is way more stable (isnt that sad).

I have the same problem... I think the v4 router is causing trouble for my Sipura.

When I try to make outbound calls, it's causing errors like this:

SIP/2.0 400 Content Length is Incorrect (304 vs 300)

I broke my old v2 router again. I updated to the newest firmware tried to reset it and it wouldnt work, I put the old firmware back in and still no luck. I bought the new v4 router and I have the same problems, lose connection all the time cant ping certain things, cant host anything.

I'm going to assume no one has found this beta firmware? I'm having similar issues with my ver4 constantly dropping the connection.

I recently noticed that my BEFSR41 V4 blocks incoming IDENTD requests (TCP Port 113) and could not resolve the problem using port triggering as I had done in the past with an older BEFSR41 V2 router.

I called Linksys tech support (after using their LinkChat with two completely clueless techs). The tech I spoke with told me he would e-mail the latest firmware. Still waiting, two days later

Yeah. This one is doing that too.. It block port 113, even if you disable the 113 Filter under the security tab, set the machine in the dmz, OR directly forward the port. This appears to be a firmware problem, or even a hardware problem. These problems exist in 1.04.03 as well. I'm attempting to downgrade to 1.04.00, but I'm still on hold. Awaiting a Level 2 tech. Whee!
