You have posted a number of times in this forum, but really don't give sufficient information for us to help you. That may be why you have not received many replies to your questions...

I have not personally installed the third party firmware for the T-series products, so I can't give you any advice about that. However, others have reported that it works fine.

Remember that using the Apply button does not commit the configuration changes to flash memory. On the official firmware, you must explicitly save the configuration and reboot. Depending on the version of the configuration interface, this may be the Tools | System Commands | Save All option, followed by Restart. Or it could be the Tools | System | Reboot option.

If you do not take this step, then restarting the router will load the factory default settings. It is possible that something - perhaps a brief power failure - caused the router to restart. And unless you have explicitly saved your configuration, the router will restart with the default settings.

Not sure I can think of anything else - as I said, I haven't tried the McMCC firmware.

[Aside: I note that Igor Mokruchin's site
»mcmcc.bat.ru/dlinkt/
has new firmware dated 8-Jun-05, but from the title this looks like support for ADSL2/2+.

As far as I can see there is no new English documentation, and without this I wouldn't want to install the ADSL2/2+ stuff. Certainly the official D-Link ADSL2/2+ firmware upgrade repartitions flash memory and makes other changes to the environment, so it would be necessary to have a good record of the current environment settings before proceeding, else there may be no way back...]

Hope this helps

"the right way to activate the ip account"
I'm not sure why you have a problem.

Which country are you in?
Which telecom provider do you use?
Which ISP do you use?

You need to know the details of your ADSL connection. PPPoE or PPPoA? Encapsulation? VPI and VCI? Dynamic or static IP address? Your ISP login username and password?

Normally, the device would be supplied with firmware with settings pre-configured for the major telecom provider and/or ISP in the country in which it was purchased. If you don't have these details, they're usually to be found on the ISP's web site.

There are two differently organised web-based interfaces for the T-series models. Also, you have the DSL-500T (which I have not used) and the McMCC firmware (which I haven't tried) so I have a little problem helping you...

On the DSL-G604T which I have running current UK firmware, the connection is configured on the Home | WAN screen. On the previous firmware, it was configured on the Setup | Connection 1 screen.

Once the details are entered, you need to click Apply, then save the settings [see previous post] and restart the router.

The minimum you need to do is to enter your ISP username and password. The other defaults should usually be fine - but if you've loaded some 'alien' firmware with the 'wrong' defaults for your ISP, then you'll probably have to find and enter the correct details - see the list earlier in this post.

Hope this helps

stlony, I am using a DSL500T and had the exact same problem before. It was a problem with the firmware version I installed.

PROBLEM WAS SOLVED by installing another version and I did not have any problem ever after that.

»ftp://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/ADSL/DSL-500T/F···re/ADSL/

Use the Feb. 23, 2005 version. It has its time being automatically updated from a time server.

I am in the Philippines using PPPoA. Sorry for the late reply. I just stumbled upon your post.
