 How to solve high ping problem to tm.net.my?

I've been suffering this for almost 8 months since the free upgrade of 384 ot 512 and 512 to 1mb.

My connection has a really high ping problem and probably higher then a 56k users.

See this screenshot and can somebody help me how to solve this?

The ping only will be back to normal when its 3am to 10am in the morning and then back to sky high rise again. ZZZzzzzzz

BTW I'm not downloading anything while pinging the addresses and I'm sync at 1024/384.

I am having the same problem and have been suffering in silence. I dont think theres anything anyone can do cos Tmnet is practically a monopoly and as long as the thing works they are not gonna give a damn whether its slower than a 28k modem.

I think you better log a report to TM, because pinging local host should not give you such high ping.

Here is my ping from Penang:-

If you get high ping to local site, I can't imagine how's your ping to oversea's sites.

Try to connect directly from the phone jack on the wall, this is to check whether the cable wiring causing the high ping.

Last time it was from 12pm to 8pm, then change to 3am to 10am , well I dont know why, just now i got good connection from 7pm to 11pm. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I can't play CS nemore, looks like my money is wasted buying original game but can't play at all. NO CS:Source, BF2, No NO NO for me!!! Damn. I wish they gave me a half rebate for my bills every month coz they oversold their bandwith!!

Did you re-tweak the connection after the upgrade? Changes in b/width may require some changes to re-optimise the connection.

I never tweaked my connection before. And this is a new install of Win XP, so impossible to have a tweaked connection unless Win XP tweaked it itself.

Why not give the »/tweaks test a shot, and see if anything improved after the test.

Try play around with the MTU and RWIN values, see any difference on speed.

Its quite pointless to complain cos they will ask you to check your pc....your phone line.....your modem......your splitter......you guessed it, the problem lies on your end.....TMNet can do no wrong!

I've tried report it once before, they said my comp is the coz of the problem, they ask me to do defrag first......I was like ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz, I guess they know nothing about network!!!

That's y i said before its pointless to talk to them. They wont be able to help me, I dont know, Maybe I have to talk to one of their technician or engineer. Anybody got some inside line?

I've tested out some cc yesterday and find out their IP is 218.111 which I was never to get onto and their ping is low 20ms.

Hmmm looks like their on new DSLAM at my place and each DSLAM have their own connection. I thought it was shared among all the DSLAM, I have somehow let me jump to new DSLAM LoL.

I think those cc are using the enterprise Streamyx which has a fixed IP, thats why you are never able to get thos IPs..

TM Monopoly, TM no use, they ask me to defrag first. If we continue to accept such ideals then good for you guys. YOU DESERVE whatever ping times you got.

Can we at least try to prod and push them? Yes, they do get away with a lot of things but certain basic stuffs, we shdnt let them get away from.

They say do defrag. Next time tell them: Dah! What do they tell you next? Virus? Dah check, nada! Any nonsensical stuffs fr them, dah. Let them know I'm doing ping from MS-DOS. I'm not running anything, just ping, and I get so high times. What do they say?

Also, let them know "I've spoken to networking guys and they think your DSLAM is congested. Ya kah?". Can you pls come and check for me? Can I have a report number for this case? I reported this 5 times already but got no report number and must start all over each time. Boring lah. Frust lah.

You may be unlucky to be sharing the same DSLAM with high b/w users (corporate, etc). Too few SOHO users to warrant a separate DSLAM box? I dunno, I'm speculating. But at least, try to get a reasonable answer from TM instead of just branding them and calling them names.

How can "Malaysia Boleh" when Orang Malaysia sendiri tak boleh?

As stated in the email, I already said Ping to tm.net.my(local site). But he reply tellling me problem at international site. Really drive me crazy.

Disini saya lampirkan ping result saya dlm bentuk teks dan juga screenshot.

Sepatutnya saya hanya mendapat result sebanyak 20-30ms sahaja tetapi disini ia menunjukkan 170-200ms. Masalah ini bermula sejak bulan november tahun lepas. Bayangkanlah saya telah menghadapi masalah ini selama 8 bulan. Diharap tuan/puan dapat menyelesaikan masalah ini secepat mungkin ataupun dapat memberi rebat terhadap saya.

Saya telah mencuba menggunakan internet di sebuah cyber cafe di Teluk Intan dan tidak mendapat masalah yang sedang saya hadapi ini. Di sini ingin saya tekankan bahawa masalah saya adalah berkaitan sambungan didalam Malaysia, bukan luar negara, jadi saya tidak faham mengapa sambungan antarabangsa yang ralat boleh membawa kesan kepada sambungan dalaman. Saya menghadapi masalah sambungan di dalam negara bukan di luar negara. Saya telah melampirkan keputusan ping ke tm.net.my yang mana tm.net.my adalah TMnet sendiri di dalam Malaysia, bukan di luar negara.
