Michael Jackson 'suicide'

»blogs.chron.com/techblog/

Hackers use Michael Jackson 'suicide' as lure

No, Michael Jackson hasn't committed suicide.

The e-mail you may have received to that effect in your in-box is an attempt to get you to go to a Web site that will install malicious software on your computer.

But then, you're smart enough not to click on things like that when you receive them, right?

By the way, this isn't the first time cyberscum have used Jackson to lure the clueless and gullible.

Educating a mule used to take a 2 by 4, and a strong swing. If the mule is thousands of miles away, that procedure doesn't work too well.

Oh come on now >> there are people that will send their Banking info asked for in an email so they can transfer money from an offshore account belonging to an EX-King of some tiny Country > Klendathu or some crazy shit like that.

Withdraw money from the bank and give it to an "Investigator" to "catch" a teller that is stealing money from customers accounts.

Or a contractor comes to the door saying they have "extra" materials from a job in the neighborhood and can do your house for a really low price >> oh you need to give a $ deposit to start.

It has just gone Hi-Tech-Low Mentality or I should say Low Common Sense.

Gracie,
Your link gives a 404. It appears that the "/including" part is now gratuitous. Try:

Considering that the spam is distributed thru a botnet, you'd have to use a large database. Considering that the botnet is growing all the time (so many suckers, see my mule comment above), it would have to be a very dynamic database.

I would doubt that even the folks at news.admin.net-abuse.email know how to block this one effectively.
