 http://www.adwaredelete.com/

Any info on this one? I believe it's a really bad anti spyware application. I checked the rogue anti spyware list but could not find it. There is an affiliate link from bestdir.net(CWS?) to »www.adwaredelete.com/. I was expecting to see a high price as usual but I was surprised to see this price

$19.95

It seems like a great deal for software that "keeps you safe from hackers and other online criminals by eliminating Spyware, Adware, Viruses and Trojans from your PC"

But this software is subscription based. Your card is billed $19.95 a month:o

Note: »whois.sc/adwaredelete.com says their SSL certificate expired.

Also, the DNS servers used by that domain are:
  ns1.klikfeed.com
  ns2.klikfeed.com
That sounds more like an advert click tracking service.

Finally, the domain contact is someone @searchservices.info .

I'd remain suspicious.

searchservices.info? That's the Impro/ICommerce group, who are behind CWS hijacks such as CWS/DownCom, CWS/StartBHO and CWS/Firestarter. See qck.cc, find-help.org, yeahsearch.net, iehelp.net, iwantsearch.com, web-res.biz and so on ad infinitum.

On the balance of things, I probably wouldn't buy an anti-malware application from them. You know, just saying.

There is no way I'm buying anything from them

I was just curios because it was not on the rogue list.

It will likely be on there soon, once Eric Howes gets
through with them. I've seen rogue spyware removal popups
that came in with a CWS_NS3 (Home Search Assistant)
infection on a machine at work. I spent most of the rest
of that afternoon removing it.

The CWS gang seem to branching out into more traditional
malware, such as botnet clients and keyloggers lately.

Money is the name of the game.
I believe adwaredelete's holding company, MK Digital Media LLC. would call it diversifying. Google'em up.

Hi All:

Thought I'd drop a note in this thread that AdwareDelete has been added to teh Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware page along with three other apps, taking us to 204 listed anti-spyware programs:

»www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_ant···ware.htm

Also added were SpyDemolisher (a SpywareNo clone), PSGuard (which has been racking up compplaints of aggressive advertising and stealth installs similar to SpywareNo), and SpyPry (which appears to be the latest variant in the Spyblocs/PrivacyDefender family of apps).

Of greatest concern to me at this point is the growing number of anti-spyware applications associated with CWS-related domains or that have a track-record of hijacking users' desktops with ominous warnings about spyware and malware on their computers. To date the list includes:

* SpywareNo! (spywareno.com)
* SpySheriff (spysheriff.com) - same app as SpywareNo
* SpyDemolisher (spydemolisher.com) - same app as SpywareNo
* PSGuard (psguard.com)
* AdwareDelete (adwaredelete.com)
* RazeSpyware (razespyware.net/spywaredollars.com)
* AntiVirus Gold (antivirus-gold.com)
* WareOut (wareout.com)
* Security iGuard (securityiguard.com)
* SlimShield (slimshield.com)
* SmartSecurity (smart-security.info)

The majority of the above apps were added to the Rogue/Suspect list just in the past few months, and the appearance of such applications has seemingly accelerated in recent weeks.

This is a most worrisome trend.

I have Norton on my PC. I also used Spybot and Ad- Aware, neither removed the file. If I go to Norton Virus Removal page how do I know which file to use?
