I thought the government was constrained against direct competition with private business? |

| Public schools compete against private. The USPS competes with Fedex, UPS and DHL. Private security patrols compete with police. Public transit competes with private transit. Private hospitals complete with public hospitals.
There are plenty of areas where gov't completes directly or indirectly against private sector business. -- Life is good without the headache of Comcrap HSI |

| reply to oliphant That is completely true, I have yet to see a MuniBB start up where there wasn't already an Incumbent. At least in all the cases where I've dealt with it personally. I'm sure there are Munis out there with pure intentions, but mostly they're there to drive someone else out. |

| MuniBB starts going where there is significant CONSTITUENT DEMAND for them to be there. More often than not it takes democratic action (voting on the bond issuance etc) to get these rolling which is why we see all of the incumbent money being spent on advertising saying like a Jedi Mind Trick "No, you don't want choice, you don't want better service..." -- Life is good without the headache of Comcrap HSI |
