Re: [Xtreme] Website not found but ok on others

If you are using bellsouth DNS try using other DNS than bellsouth.

If you do start -> run -> cmd

And type

nslookup site.com

where "site.com" is the site you are trying to visit, does the correct IP address show up?

Are the others BellSouth customers?

Any idea why others would be able to view the site by going to the domain name and I get an error of page not found? I also did a DNS lookup on it and it comes back to the correct DNS locations.

Some possibilities:

1) The DNS servers you are using are broken and do not contain the proper records needed to resolve the domain into an IP address.

2) You have the site or domain in your hosts file and it points to 127.0.0.1 or some other useless IP address.

@bellsouth.ne

  Hey folks,

I have an odd issue here that I am hoping someone could give me some advice on. With my Bellsouth DSL I am unable to access a website if I go to the domain name but if I type in the IP of the site it loads fine. When I try it with my verizon PDA phone it will load the site fine when I use the domain name or IP. Anyone else can also get to the domain name with no problems. I have tried this on three computers in the house with the same results. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Thanks,

Jim
