 [VoicePulse] New ways to order?

I just finished placing an order and the entire system looks different -- much more thorough and complete.

The changes seem to be:
•You can sign up for SPA-2000 or SPA-3000, borrow or BYOD
•Everything has a product description with all costs outlined
•You can pick your EXACT phone number! No more guessing on what the last xxxx will be.
•You can signup additional lines (and their phone numbers) right at sign-up
•You can order a router or other accessories (power supplies, cables, etc)
•You can pick expedited shipping if you want.

Also, some changes in the member website:
•You can add a device to an existing account
•Open access has turned into a "Generic SIP Device" that you can add to your account and pick the Open Access plan.
•You can add lines, phone number, change plans, etc as before

I did run into a bug, but phone support walked me through with no hold time. I hope this paves the way for VoicePulse supporting more devices.

Good to see a company that gets top marks on customer service and still has time to improve their offering. Are you listening Packet8? BroadVoice?

Looks like you no longer must commit to a 1 year contract for unlimited either.

Anyone know if you have to pay an activation fee if you bring your own device?

At least Broadvoice didn't lock my device like VoicePulse did

Yeah, that's the only thing I don't like about VoicePulse.

The f*ckers will lock your device, no matter what.

Yeah, you got them there. I guess we're stuck with a horrible, horrible locked device and service that... hmm... what's the word I'm looking for... Works.

Dude, nobody is saying that VoicePulse sucks (they don't), so take it easy.

The problem I have with them is the fact that even though I'm the legal owner of the Sipura device, as soon as I activate their service, they will lock my device's administrative interface and that, my fellow BBR brother, is simply inappropriate and stupid.

Hmmm .. I wonder if I can trade up my SPA-2000 for a 3000, now? I'm going to fire off the question to them but have a question that is relevant to this discussion group.

WHO here was beta-testing an SPA-3000 with them (or was simply one of the first to bite when they began support for it. I recall it wasn't issue free?

Anyone using an SPA-3000 with VoicePulse now? Are there still any issues with it? I'm dying (pun not intended) to get the FXO so I can hook the backup POTS line to it and have 911 from ALL of the phones in the house. Oh, I mean that REAL 911 thingy. Alas, it would also be sweet to 9+ my way out the POTS line when the need arises.

Well, nevermind to the first part. 3000's are still BYOD.

The rest still applies. Any comments on actually using a 3000 with VP if I ever go out and plunk money down on one?

There is an error on their page. On "add a line" or "add a number," the pull-down menu does not list your device to choose from. It does when you choose the option to change your rate plan. My guess is they'll fix that soon.

I've heard that a lot of features of the 3000 do not work with Voicepulse. From the Voicepulse Knowledge Base:
quote:
Please note that at this time, feature support for the SPA-3000 is limited. You will be able to make/receive phone calls using the SPA-3000, but some advanced features may not be available. We are continually working on fully integrating the SPA-3000's functionality into our systems.
