[Home Network] Networking sharing question.

I just set up my two home PC's on a Linksys router. Both can surf the internet just fine.
How do I get the 2 computers set up to be able to transfer files between them? Do I just run the network wizard in windows?

Are they bot windows XP? Just make sure both PCs have the same workgroup name (you can see this in the system properties window, I think its on the "computer name" tab). Then choose folders you want to share and right click , go to properties, go to sharing tab and allow them to be shared.

That should do it. This topic might get more help if moved to a better forum.

That's the gist of it, but this should be over in the Microsoft forum.

If TCP/IP handshaking was less formal, SYN/ACK would be YO!/SUP!

iek_69, looks like you've got a good start on this. Rather than move the thread now, I'm going to leave it here.

But if you run into problems or have more questions, click the [hey mods] link in your first post and ask to have it moved to the Microsoft Help forum.
