Dll injecttions?

I'm looking for a program that will tell you when a DLL is trying to load like Sygate does. Anyone know of a program? I know about Process guard but I don't think the free version has DLL injections protection.

I'm pretty sure Outpost Pro does this. It notifies you when any dll it has listed is modified.

It's a pretty tedious feature. Not sure if that's as comprehensive as you want, but just saying..

Norton Internet Security/ Norton Personal Firewall 2003 and newer does this as well, however its not on by default.. you need to turn on "Program Component Monitoring" under Options.

System Safety Monitor. Works on 9X/ME/2K/XP.

Free for now, but will be payware in december. Still older versions will continue to work and never expire, like 1.89. Though older versions like 1.89 are not as good as the newer versions, but should provide protection from dll injection.

1.89 was on snapfiles at one time, you could check there and see if they still have it. I still have a copy of the installer if you really wanted it and couldn't find it elsewhere.

I used SSM and didn't like the issues I had with it. It froze my computer to where I had to reboot. Thanks though.

I know Kerio4.2.0 does but that's a bloated firewall. I want to use Kerio 2.15.

Well, Kerio 2.1.5 doesn't do that, if it did, we probably might have mentioned it. It does protect from exe injection, though.

I know Kerio 2.15 don't do that. That's why I asked about a separate program that will do that.

Will this also block the DLLS if I don't want them to load?

no, process explorer won't block them. it will only list those loaded.

I want something that will block them if I don't know what they are or if they aren't needed.

ProcessGuard blocks DLL injection. Not in a firewall way, but instead system-wide. Isn't PG what you're looking for ?

PG & SSM are two very well made applications that do what you wanted. SSM is geared more towards a veteran while PG is geared more towards the novice.

SSM freezes my computer. I can't buy PG yet. I wanted something free. Guess I'll keep sygate until I find something.

Well it was already suggested that you try an older version of SSM. Many slightly older versions work very well, won't freeze your computer, and don't have an expiration.

Also doesn't Abtrusion Protector (also free) protect against dll injection?

Yes, PG is pay, but there is a free trial version. It is limited, but you can test it out, use it for a while and if you like it, buy the purchased version.

The free trial does not include DLL injection blocking, but the reason you might want to try it is so that way you can see the ease of use that PG offers.

A comparison of the free trial and full version is on the download site:
