Live Update problems

Here lately every couple of months I have to reinstall NAV 2004 because of errors with LU. When I would run LU, it would download updates except virus definitions. Reinstall NAV and everything was ok for a while.

Now yesterday I go to run LU and the title bar says "welcome to live update express". I didn't know they had a "express" version, nor did i install it. When I run it I get error LU1899, does not download definitions.

Looks like I get to reinstall again. Anyone else having these problems???

I tried that and had problems. How do you go about just reinstalling live update?

Try this, kd5loe:

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Symantec LiveUpdate

In the General tab make sure "Interactive Mode" is checked and not Express Mode.

Good Luck,

The Symantec KB says this about LU1899:

I do not know how live update got selected to express mode, did it by itself, but I got it set to interactive mode.

It was still getting errors so I reinstalled only live update. The problem then was that it only reconized that LU was installed and not the entire LU program. So I reinstalled the entire thing.

How do I remove and reinstall LU successfully?
