autoload.exe

I scanned my computer with Ewido and found C:\WINDOWS\autoload.exe as Not-A-Virus.Tool.Autoloader. What is the use of this file? Should I delete it? Why is it labeled as not a virus yet flagged as a security risk?

it sounds weird, try uploading it here
»www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html
and also
»virusscan.jotti.org/

let us know what you get

Thanks for the reply. I have uploaded the file and here are the results.

virustotal.com:

TheHacker says it's an Aplicacion/Riskware.Tool.AutoLoader
VBA32 says it's Trojan.Autododer
The rest say no virus found.

virusscan.jotti.org:

Kaspersky Anti-Virus says Found not-a-virus:Tool.Win32.Autoloader
VBA32 says Found Trojan.Autododer
The rest found nothing.

Should I remove it? Right now I have it quarantined.

Why do ewido and kaspersky say it's not a virus? maybe it's a legitimate program? i googled and read in some place that it's used to launch html files from cd or something.

well, i never ran it, i dont know how it got there.. i thought it came with windows. i have windows xp pro sp2 with all the updates.

What the mean is that it doesn't fit their definition of a virus.. But it does fit their definition of either "riskware" (KAV's word) or Trojan (VBA32's word)..

I'd remove it.. I doubt seriously it's anything good.. (I don't have it and I have windows XP pro SP 2..)
