I used iVisit (paid account) to video chat between New York, Berlin, some city in Turkey and Tokyo. Some users had initially trouble setting up audio but otherwise it worked quite well.
Text chatting sucks in the OSX version as it does not support Japanese input. Some characters won't display properly. Windows version doesn't have this issue.
iChat AV 3 supports multiple video connections and AIM video chat for Windows users but you need Tiger and realistically at least a G4.
iVisit can do video chat on older machines and they also have an OS8.6-9 version. It also works well behind NAT routers and firewalls. |
