So the client won't connect only when you enable logging in the client options?

From the looks of it the permissions in the directory the client uses to create the log file don't allow it to create the file it needs to. Check the permissions and make sure the user starting the client can write files to that directory.

No,

I can't get it to connect at all, i've set it up with static IP info. It looks like I'm getting the error all the time, but its only being shown in the logs when I have logging enabled.

I'd still look at permissions in the log directory on your client system. That message doesn't look like one to come from the remote end. Unless you can see the logs on the remote device you can't troubleshoot till the logging on the client is working.

I gave my user full control on the vpn client directory, and I still seem to be getting that message.

I got it working, after I gave the user full control, I removed ZoneAlarm and reinstalled the client. Thanks for your help.
