| [SunRocket] Extra handsets
I was talking to customer service and asked about where to get an extra handset and they said they sell them for 30.00 free shipping. I was looking around for these but could not find this model anywhere except Costco sells this model in a package with a answering machine and three handsets for 89.00 Just thought I would put this out in case anyone was looking for them. |

| What's the model # of the expansion handsets? Walmart carries the DCX640 handset for $28.94. Of course once you factor in sales tax (and possibly S&H), the SR price is probably lower.

| reply to buckeyered I bought some from Amazon.com, the best deal on the web at $28.99. They don't charge tax and shipping is included (free SUPER SAVER shipping.)
Here is a link for the extra handsets:

| I was just going to post the Amazon deal too. If you apply for the Amazon.com VISA card via Amazon.com, upon approval you receive $30 of Amazon.com credit.
Thus, you can get 1 free handset.

| reply to buckeyered For the week of Sunday, July 31, 2005 through Saturday, August 6, 2005, OfficeMax will have the Uniden DCX-640 handsets on-sale as "Buy 2, Get 1 Free." The price of each handset is $29.99, thus, $60 for 3 handsets. On top of that, there's a "$10 off $50 purchase" phone coupon code available (coupon #091880610717, exp 9/3/05). Order by phone (1-877-OFFICEMAX), apply that coupon, and it drops your total to $50 for 3 handsets (plus applicable sales tax). That comes out to $16.67/handset.

The longest wait is for the credit card. It was at least 2 weeks, and more like three, I believe. |

| When I signed up through the link at Amazon.com (which performs an instant approval), I was able to purchase on it at Amazon.com right away. In other words, upon approval, both my new Amazon.com Credit Card as well as the $30 Promotional Certificate were added to my Amazon.com user account.
The physical card arrived perhaps 2-3 weeks later.

Question: Can a phone from the model DCT646-2 be programed to be a third handset with another/different DCT646-2 or will only a DCX-640 phone work for expansion? |

| reply to rizzo2dial To rizzo2dial - I just finished talking with my wife about me fixing the driveway, painting the house and then next month her mother will be with us for a week - please kill me now - I would welcome it.
To burris - Earlier a member called burris's wife asked rizzo2dial to tell you the secret. You guys like being with each other?
And now to be serious:
To Jim K - Yes, you can take phones from one DCT646-2 base and reprogram them to be used on another DCT646-2 base. The programming instructions are in the owners manual. If you don't have the manual, it can be downloaded from the Uniden website. |

| reply to oddgeezer said by oddgeezer :You got the credit card AFTER the merchandise? Very strange. I thought a credit card had to be activated, after you receive it, and before you can use it. If you're logged into your Amazon.com user account and click on the link within Amazon.com's web-site to apply for the Amazon.com credit card, upon approval the new card gets added as a saved Payment Method to your Amazon.com user account.
Thus, you can only use the new credit card account at Amazon.com until you receive the physical card a few weeks later. The Amazon.com web-site will only show you the last 5 digits of the account, so you won't have the full account number to use elsewhere.
Hope this clears up any lingering confusion.
The primary reason I bumped this thread though was to bring the OfficeMax deal to everyone's attention. Not everybody wants to apply for a credit card to get a good deal on merchandise, and not everybody will get approved for a credit card.
Due to the higher than expected volume of people needing to be killed, this will become a billable service.
