| [Help Me] Errr, sudden low signal output
Hi all,
How do I go about checking to see if my DI-614+ is on it's death throes?
1) For the past few days I've been getting ~300/300; I should be getting ~1500/300. 2) All the wireless clients I've got (three laptops) display poor connections.
Even on default settings the connections remain unstable. Any recommendations would be most appreciated. -- Arrogant People Suck. AMWFBI's Most Wanted Interpol's MW |

funchords Hello Premium,MVM join:2001-03-11 Washington, DC | You could be getting interference. Try channels 1 and 11 and see if the situation changes at all. |

| The FCC has regulated 2.4ghz bandwidth in 12 pieces, or 12 channels. In 802.11g/b 11 of those are used, each is 22 MHZ wide, and the total spectrum is 83.5 Mhz.
To avoid duplications, you should place your devices on the 3 bell curves that do not overlap almost at all, which are ch. 1, ch. 6 and ch.11
i.e. 22 x 3 => 66 MHZ total, which fits nicely in 83.5 mhz, with some space in between each channel.
i.e. your neighbor with a Linksys is running over your signal, as ch.6 and ch.8 are about the same. |
