I just got this DSL Modem and im trying to find out how to check line stats. Can anybody help me out with that?

| If the option doesn't appear on the web interface (if there is one) you can try the urls found on the E242 hack pages. Usually even if the option is hidden the actual page is still there.
It's rather hard to say exactly how to do it as not many people here have the 4200 yet. So since we're on the subject, what do you think about the new modem?  |

Does the 4200 run silent or does it make the same high pitch noise as the 5200 E242?
I found some E242's louder than others, must be noisy capacitors. My 5200 E240 is completely silent and the E242 was so noisy I could hear it as soon as I entered the room. |

I cant take pics dont have the modem anymore its for my sister not me was just setting it up on the comp. Its Very small and silent.

The old 5200 (E240) is the TI AR5 chipset.
The new 4200 is the TI AR7 chipset.

The 5200 E242 I have never seen opened, but the serial output matches the faster AR7. I do know the 5200 E240 is TI5 and the 5200 E270 is AR7 due to the clock speeds posted from serial output.

Note: Even if a page exists that doesn't always mean a feature works. The Firmware has to support the feature page otherwise you may make changes that actually perform no actual change.

Everything I was able to do after unlocking my speedstream 5200 I can do with my 4200. But I have a 4200 D242 not a D240. Here are some pics and screenshots. |
