Seeing 7 down, 2 up, now, is the 15 going to be 15/5 type speeds? |

I know we're the satellite tag along to the RI node and thus we're not a priority but...figured I'd ask. |

said by Rob850:Hell why not the rest of us. Rob Should be pretty simple. No FiOS = No upgrade anytime soon. A very reliable source of mine says some of the other markets WILL be recieving speed on July 1st, but didn't mention whether it was the 9/1 or the big push to 15/2.

Can always hope. Maybe they'll realize that it isn't the consumers fault that Verizon won't build here, and stop punishing us with slower speeds than the other markets

The only DSL people here are SBC, and looking at their prices for their broadband for the speeds that are offered, COX should have no problem competing.

1 edit | Lots of people see that 14.95 and jump on it just like SBC thought and wants.But man they(SBC) have to be making almost nothing on this kind of stuff.IMHO like it was said before its just a land crab to get as many people with them as they could.I for one have been waiting for Cox to offer Phone so i can just dump em(SBC) myself.

SBC is coming out with a 7/1 package that is supposed to be $39.99 for the first 12 months. Cox will probably be raising speeds in all markets that offer SBC DSL. They better, if they don't, SBC Nevada Bell will be seeing my business.

I'm pretty glad COX offers phone here. I really REALLY hated dealing with PacBell, especially after their DSL installation fiasco here. I just want faster speeds from COX but hey, who doesn't
Hopefully COX offers you digital phone service soon too. Since it would be a new market for you you would probably get the nice VoiP gear too

I assume you're using the premier service? What equipment do you have connected? I currently have a D-Link DCM-202 cable modem, and a Linksys BEFVP41 router; I would expect to at least be hitting in the 5Mbps range...
