Copper doesn't cost $1,000 per home to wire. |

1 edit | A. That price will come down over time.
B. Even at $1K per home, that is a deal. Fiber is not limited to any speed, in theory the speed is unlimited and based only on the equipment at each end.
Wait 5, 10, even 15 years and see what you think then when it's STILL the greatest and fastest way to move data. Your probably just pissed because you live in Podunk, Montana and you don't even have copper yet. LMAO.
PS. The internet was a "fad" at one point. |

The Internet still is a fad. Intranets are not. |

But I'll bite.
Your argument is flawed as you are not comparing apples to apples. A much better comparison would be if you were to amortized the cost of wiring a house across the life of the infrastructure as well as cost savings by doing the upgrade. If you compare THAT number to the equivalent number from your local cable provider laying it's copper as well as it's HFC network upgrades and associated equipment from a decade ago, I bet the numbers will be a lot closer. -- "What gives them the right to come in and do this?" she said. - Lady complaining that she was getting FIOS in her backyard. |
