On the MacNN boards the phone rumour is the candybar phone will be white... me thinks AppleInsider wanted to generate more vistors by rendering a photoshopped E790

Here is the picture from the MacNN board:

Actually, my last one really sucked, but this T616 I've had for a year and a half now. It still works fine.

I'd get a Treo before I bought an iPod phone, though. I don't want to listen to music on my phone.
If I want to listen to music on my phone, I'll call Dell support...

The best hold music is Speakeasy's. I don't miss a whole lot about them, but the hold music was fantastic. It was like aural prozac.

I think it looks very good, all they need to do is offer a plain boring(one-color) version to satisfy the iPod crowd.

The issue is, that black/green color scheme practically screams Xbox...which is a Microsoft product, which, naturally, most of us have an aversion to. If it were say..white, instead of green, it might be less of an issue. Infact, if it were white/black instead of black/green, there'd probably be less dislike for it.

"thought the original G3 looked weird"

The beige G3 didn't look too weird.

How many people thought the original G3 looked weird? How many people thought the G5 looked like a giant cheese grater? What about the Bondi iMac? I seem to remember people saying things like "gumball", "toy computer", and "this will never sell" about all of the above. Personally, I think the pic posted by hkellogg looks wicked cool. The one HappyFrappy posted doesn't look like anything too special, unless in addition to that snow white color, you could get other colors too.

Travel to Japan some time and look at what people there do to their cell phones. There, the more gaudy and outlandish your cell looks, the better. Opinion may be today that the xbox looking model is fugly, but I guarantee it will sell like 10 million units in a week in Japan.

I like my Motorola RAZR V3 better than this one. The white one is kinda cool though.

The only thing that could make that worse is if they also market it to use PalmOS, or make it a "Smartphone™" with Intel® Craptacular technology!
