| 327w and Linksys, want the 327w to be a BRIDGE ??
OK So I have been fighting with my 327w to be a bridge and only a bridge, just like my Fujitsu used to be.
I went to the 327w WAN settings and set it from routed bridge to just bridge.
The 327w has an IP of: 192.168.1.1 the linksys has an IP of: 192.168.2.1
If the 327w is in routed bridge mode it works fine, all computers are hooked to the linksys and the 327w is hooked to the linksys via the WAN port.
If in routed bridge mode the Linksys gets a WAN IP of: 192.168.1.47 -- if in bridge mode, the linksys can not obtain a WAN IP.
Here are some screen shots. 327w SET TO ROUTED BRIDGE MODE - Also in my area we use DHCP and not PPPoE. ==

OK Now if I put the router in Bridge Mode, I can not get out on the internet.
I would like my Westell 327w to be a modem and just that, no router, no firewall, nothing....I want it to be just like my Fujitsu was. Can people here point me in the right direction with settings? If you need any more info or screen shots Please let me know. |

It should work with the modem as a bridge, and the router set to use DHCP on its WAN interface. |

OK When I set the 327w to BRIDGE, my Linksys continues to get a 192.168.1.47 address...I assume that is the address of the Westell. Here are some screen captures. Also I have no connectivity to the internet at that point when set to bridge.
Maybe someone sees something I am missing?...Why is the Linksys getting a 192.168.1.47 address and not the 71.x.x.x address.

Again, Maybe someone can see something not set correctly, please give me any info you can. |

You need to turn off DHCP in the Westell. |

I have the same setup. Make sure dhcp is off and on the linksys firewall you have to turn off block anonymous internet requests. I don't know why but that worked for me. I have pppoe thats the only difference. |

| reply to szymczuk I dont know whats wrong. I went and turned off DHCP on the Westell....at that point I could not access the westell anymore, the linksys could not get a WAN IP.
I dont know, I seem to have done everything that is stated here but it is not working. |
