Their service is very unreliable and customer service poor and the people extremely unresponsive with very little knowledge.
When I got the service (768/384) I was told I would get a static address, but when it got installed, it changed to DHCP.
Half the time their DHCP server is down, and I have repeatedly complained that there's something wrong with my service. Their stock reply is turn off the modem and then turn it back on after 2-3 minutes. They kept saying that it was my computer and finally after weeks of insistence, they got Covad involved and found that the line was bad and got it replaced. Now again after a few days of working reasonably well, it has gone really bad. Their reply as usual is turn off the bridge and turn it back on after a few minutes.
Since I committed the mistake of signing a year long contract, I am stuck with them, otherwise I would have cancelled my service in a heartbeat.
Now they changed all 768 to 1.5 Mbps, but I am stuck with a bridge that can only go as fast as 1.1 Mbps, though that's the least of my problems. I only want my connection to work reliably and not having to turn off and on the bridge every few hours. |
