Re: Verizon, the competitor

Oh... I can just see / hear it now:

Former Adelphia customer calling Comcast after receiving leter describing service;

Comcast rep = Cc
Customer = PC (Pissed Customer)

CC: Hello and thank you for calling us today; how may I help you?

PC: Hi there, I just got this leter from you saying my connection speed was changing since you purchased Adelphia from my old speeds of 16Mbps down and 2 Mbps up to 4Mbps down and 384Kbs up. What's with this?

CC: Yes; that's right.. it's our network and we can do as we want; so there.

I believe that Comcast and Roadrunner will be offering the new speeds before too long.. I mean, they will have to in order to compete. Plus I was told that by a Tech I was talking to, he seemed to know allot about what is going on, and what is to come. So, Just think.. we all should be at 16MB down, 2MB down within the next year or two. I hope so anyway
I asked the Tech about the upgrades, I asked what would happen if for instance I got the upgrade and then the next month roadrunner takes over my area, what would happen. And he told me that he knows that RoadRunner, & Comcast already have it in the works, and will roll it out toward the end of the year..
He said that Adelphia will offer the speeds starting July, And I don't know if it is true, BUT he also said that a month or so after Adelphia rolls out the Extreme Tier that it will start working it's way to different areas that don't have Docsis 2 or whatever yet.. He said within a year that I should have it..
BUT, you have to take that with a grain of salt.. Or a cup full.. hehe
WHO KNOWS.. I'm just telling you guys what he said.
