| IEEE 802.1x Authentication
I recently had problems using a VersaLink 327W with a desktop (wired) and 2 laptops (wireless). I would lose the wireless connection between the 327 and both laptops about every 5 to 10 minutes. See "Westell 327W Wireless Disconnects" post. As soon as I disabled IEEE 802.1x Authentication on both laptops, I no longer had the disconnect problem. Is there something on the Westell I need to configure for this to work? What does IEEE 802.1x Authentication really do anyway? Is it a security risk disabling this? Thanks! |

1 edit | You should keep IEEE 802.1x OFF. Its for larger setups using an authentication server. Here is its story: »www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials/ar···/1041171 -Riss -- I have a plan so cunning you can pin a tail on it and call it a weasel! |
